Kristu Re ta' Raħal Ġdid
The statue of Christ the King in the Basilica of Christ the King was carved by Alfred Camilleri Cauchi from a single acajou trunk brought from Guinea. Rising seven feet and one inch, it was commissioned by the Soċjetà De Paule Banda Kristu Re to mark the society’s centenary and later became the church’s titular statue. The pedestal in this illustration is a different one created by the illustrator.
