Ta' Sarria

€55.00

The Church of the Immaculate Conception in Floriana was originally built in 1585, funded by the Knight Fra Martin Sarria Navarra, after whom it is still known today as Ta’ Sarria. Following the devastation caused by the plague of 1675, the church was rebuilt under the patronage of Grand Master Cotoner. It was designed by the artist Mattia Preti, the only church attributed to him, and constructed under the direction of the architect Lorenzo Gafà.
