Tal-Mirakli
The small chapel in Lija is dedicated to Our Lady of Miracles, Tal Mirakli, meaning “the miraculous” in Maltese. In 1743, the sacristan is said to have noticed tears on the titular image of Our Lady. That same day a major earthquake struck Malta, yet no lives were lost. The Grand Master and the Bishop concluded that this was a miracle, granted through the intercession of Our Lady.
