Ta' Liesse
Located on the waterfront of the Grand Harbour at the end of the street leading to Victoria Gate, this eighteenth century church was built by the Langue of France, one of the key divisions of the Knights of Malta. The knights brought with them the devotion to Our Lady of Liesse, inspired by the story of three Knights Hospitaller who, according to tradition, were delivered from Saracen captivity in Egypt through the intercession of the Blessed Mother.
