Il-Knisja il-Qadima ta' San Giljan (Ta' Lapsi)

€55.00

The seventeenth century known as ta’ Lapsi, was the first parish church of St. Julian's, dedicated to St Julian the Hospitaller, from whom the town takes its name. Its nickname comes from an old tradition: people from Birkirkara (at the time St Julian's formed part of this parish) would visit on Ascension Day - ‘Lapsi’ in Maltese, hear mass and then walk down to the sea to enjoy the first swim of the season.
